The Jackson Wild Virtual Mentorship is a quarterly program that introduces and connects filmmakers, scientists, conservationists, and storytellers with leading experts in the industry.
The fourth round of this year’s virtual mentorships will take place during the fall of 2021, where 24 mentees will be accepted to participate in the November/December session.
We’ll be hosting a smaller mentorship group for this round as a way to deepen mentor-mentee and mentee-mentee connections. Over the course of the weeks leading up to the Summit, many insightful conversations regarding mentorship took place through this year’s Building Bridges Action Coalition. These conversations paved the way for new ideas, and in light of some of the suggestions we’ve heard during our meetings, we are in the process of revamping our approach to make it more fruitful and meaningful for both our mentors and mentees. Stay tuned for more in 2022!
How it works: Each mentor will be paired with 1-2 mentees based on similar areas of interest. Once you receive your mentor / mentee, we ask that each pairing finds at least 30 min-one hour to meet in a one-on-one call. This can be done either before or after the larger group meetup.
We will also hold a virtual group meetup in early December for the mentors and mentees to have guided conversations in small groups. The meetup, which usually lasts about an hour, is a wonderful way to connect with some of the other mentors / mentees and engage in thoughtful conversation.
