Before the Forest Falls takes audiences behind the scenes at the Aquarium of the Pacific, where a passionate team is working to save kelp forests. From spawning endangered sunflower sea stars and cultivating giant kelp to raising juvenile white abalone for release into the wild, their work represents one of the most ambitious marine conservation efforts underway today. Followed by a panel with the producer and Aquarium of the Pacific staff.

WASAWASA: Beyond the Reef’s Edge takes viewers on an inspiring journey across Fiji’s vibrant waters. Following a landmark 2025 research and filmmaking expedition across Kadavu, the Yasawas, Mamanuca, the Great Sea Reef, and the Ringgold Isles, the documentary reveals the interconnectedness of Fiji's marine ecosystems - from shallow coastal reefs to the unexplored deep sea. Through powerful local stories, traditional wisdom, and scientific exploration, the film celebrates communities' ocean stewardship while supporting the nation's ambitious commitment to sustainably manage 100% of its ocean and safeguard 30% via fully protected marine areas by 2030. Produced by National Geographic Pristine Seas in collaboration with the Government of Fiji and Blue Prosperity Fiji, the documentary is a testament to the power of partnership between local conservationists, scientists, and leaders.
