Register to attend
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27
INCLUDED IN YOUR 7, 6 and 5-day PASSes
New in 2017, on Friday, the Festival will be providing a variety of unique in-field experiences and workshops to connect you with the beauty and wildness of this valley in a more meaningful way.
Workshops and expeditions are included in your 6 and 5-day Festival & Summit. Non-delegates can participate, as space is available, for a fee.
Friday, Sept. 29 kicks off our in-town public programming, WILD Fest.  We invite you to stay on to be a part of the weekend celebration, and have arranged special discounts with local hotels and restaurants! Programming for WILD Fest includes filmmaker screenings and talkback sessions and ticketed keynote events.
Those wishing to observe Yom Kippur are invited to join the Jackson Hole Chaverim.

Wildlife Safaris (AM + PM)

Picture
Join our partner Jackson Hole Eco Tour Adventures for a 4-hour sunrise or sunset tour of Grand Teton National Park with a knowledgeable and experienced guide. During the fall, they'll hit the back roads of Jackson Hole to escape the crowds and seek out our favorite hotspots for uninterrupted observation of wildlife, including moose, elk, bison, pronghorn antelope, mule deer, wolves, black bears, grizzly bears, bald eagles, and trumpeter swans.

Drone Field Workshop sponsored by Freefly

Picture
Drones (UAVs) have become a very important tool in today's production tool box as well as for the conservationist. Take a look at flight capabilities of a few of the best systems out there including the Freefly Alta for the on-the-move natural history filmmaker. Hear from pilots, filmmakers and conservationists that have been through it all to give perspective on the best way drones can be utilized, carried in the field, and modified for newer techniques including VR, lidar, infrared and more.

Virtual Reality Field Workshop

VR filmmaking has been rapidly changing over the last several years. Advancements in equipment, approach and post production techniques have kept filmmakers on their toes. Step into the field with experts on the cutting edge to hear their thoughts on best practices. Attendees will get a hands on look at topics like depth-based capture, stereoscopic issues, photogrammetry, and run and gun vs. laptop control. Take a look at some of the latest VR camera rigs and the pros/cons of each. Led by xRez founder Eric Hanson and Dryft Digital’s Refah Seyed Mahmoud.

Scenic River Rafting Tour

Picture
A guided Wild and Scenic Raft Trip down the Snake River is by far one of the top activities not to miss! For ten miles along the Snake River, our guides will show you amazing Teton views, share in-depth knowledge about the local flora and fauna, and often you’ll get a close-up view of wildlife, including bald eagle, moose, bison, elk, osprey, and beavers.

Tour of the National Museum of Wildlife Art

Picture
Join fellow delegates on a private tour of the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, which holds more than 5,000 works of art representing wild animals from around the world. Featuring work by prominent artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Andy Warhol, Robert Kuhn, John James Audubon, and Carl Rungius, the Museum’s unsurpassed permanent collection chronicles much of the history of wildlife in art, from 2500 B.C. to the present.

Hands-On Wildlife Filmmaking with BlackMagic Design

Picture
Join DPs Tor Johansen and Jody Eldred on an excursion into Grand Teton National Park where you'll have the opportunity to shoot your own test footage with the URSA Mini Pro 4.6K. With 15 stops dynamic range, film-like color science, and ENG-style form factor with a price point making it accessible to every filmmaker, discover for yourself why it was named Best Camera of 2017 NAB, and why it's rapidly becoming the camera-of-choice for documentarians as well as narrative filmmakers.
